Splash-tastic Summer Parade

Strutting their stuff on the popular Dunes Splash World catwalk this summer, young visitors to Dunes demonstrated their wares in the centres’ Free & Active summer fancy dress competition.

Displaying a wide range of hand crafted designs as well as costumes featuring popular characters from cult television shows, the youngsters displayed their collections in the highly anticipated summer Splash World fashion show. Competition for the top spot was fiercely fought with design themes ranging from the gory and gruesome in vampire led fashion to a nod to the Wild West with a summer hoedown in the sports hall with a cowboy influence.

Despite the air of mystery provided by Scooby Doo and friends, the winner was clear from the start with Sponge Bob Square Pants winning first place with his hand tailored costume for the day.

Commenting on the fashion show, Scott Stevens, Principal Development Manager at Dunes Splash World recognised the success of the day and the range of designs on offer,

“Our fashion shows are becoming very popular during the school holidays and the competition is definitely getting stronger for the top prize! The range of quirky designs and character costumers was of an excellent standard and we would like to wish all participants well done for all their efforts. It was a great day and fun was had by all, we look forward to the next holiday competition!”
